Cisco ASR9001, also known as Cisco ASR 9001 Router, is a compact high-capacity Provider Edge router in the Cisco ASR 9000 Series. It delivers 120 Gbps of nonblocking full-duplex fabric capacity in a 2RU form factor and is designed for carrier Ethernet, IP/MPLS edge, service provider aggregation, mobile backhaul, broadband network gateway, IPTV, CDN and data center interconnect applications.
Cisco ASR9001 has an integrated Route Switch Processor and two modular bays that support 1GE, 10GE and 40GE Modular Port Adapters depending on configuration. The base chassis includes four integrated 10GE Enhanced SFP+ ports, GPS input for Stratum-1 clocking, BITS ports and management ports. The router runs Cisco IOS XR Software and supports service provider features such as Ethernet Services, L2VPN, L3VPN, IPv4, IPv6, multicast, IPoDWDM, SyncE, EOAM, MPLS OAM, ACLs, HQoS, MPLS TE-FRR, MC-LAG, IRB, NSF and NSR depending on software and license. Please note that site-to-site IPSec VPN is not supported on the ASR 9001 platform according to Cisco platform notes.
