Cisco A9K-RSP440-TR is a Cisco ASR 9000 Series Route Switch Processor 440 designed as the main system processor, controller and integrated switch fabric for Cisco ASR 9000 Series routers. It is the packet-transport optimized version of the RSP 440 platform and is intended for service provider aggregation, carrier Ethernet, IP/MPLS transport, mobile backhaul, metro Ethernet, packet transport and high-capacity edge networks.
Cisco A9K-RSP440-TR provides a high-capacity bidirectional nonblocking fabric, controller functionality, distributed forwarding support and carrier-class high availability through Cisco IOS XR Software. The packet-transport optimized model includes 6GB ECC-protected DRAM and two 16GB SSDs according to Cisco platform specifications.
