Cisco A99-8X100GE-TR is a Cisco ASR 9900 Series 8-port 100 Gigabit Ethernet packet transport optimized line card designed for high-density 100GE connectivity in Cisco ASR 9900 Series Aggregation Services Routers. It provides carrier-class capacity for packet transport networks, Carrier Ethernet, IP/MPLS transport, metro aggregation, backbone expansion, mobile backhaul, data center interconnect, video, IPTV, cloud services and large-scale service provider aggregation networks.

Cisco A99-8X100GE-TR is based on Cisco CPAK pluggable interface technology and supports flexible 100GE, 40GE and 10GE interface modes depending on optics, breakout cables, software and configuration. With Cisco CPAK 10x10G-LR optics, a single 100GE port can be divided into ten 10GE ports using breakout cables or patch panels, enabling high-density 10GE aggregation. The packet-transport optimized TR variant is designed for network deployments where basic QoS is required. It is compatible with Cisco ASR 9904, ASR 9906, ASR 9910, ASR 9912 and ASR 9922 chassis, and is not compatible with Cisco ASR 9006 or ASR 9010 routers.
