Cisco A99-RP2-TR is a Cisco ASR 9900 Route Processor 2 packet-transport optimized system processor designed for Cisco ASR 9912 and ASR 9922 routers. It provides the control-plane, management, timing and system processor functions required for high-density 100 Gigabit Ethernet line card deployments in carrier Ethernet, IP/MPLS transport, packet transport, mobile backhaul, data center interconnect, RAN aggregation and large-scale service provider networks.
Cisco A99-RP2-TR supports Cisco IOS XR Software and is designed for high scalability, fast convergence, service flexibility and high availability. The packet-transport optimized model includes 16GB ECC-protected DRAM, two 32GB SSDs and an 8-core 1.9GHz processor according to Cisco platform specifications. It can control up to seven Cisco ASR 9900 switch fabric cards and supports advanced timing features including BITS, IEEE 1588-2008 PTP, ToD, 1PPS and 10MHz timing interfaces depending on chassis, software and configuration.
