Cisco A9K-RSP880-TR is a Cisco ASR 9000 Route Switch Processor 880 packet-transport optimized system processor designed for Cisco ASR 9006, ASR 9010 and ASR 9904 routers. It provides route processing, switch fabric, management, timing and control-plane functions for high-density 1GE, 10GE and 100GE line card deployments in carrier Ethernet, IP/MPLS transport, mobile backhaul, DCI, RAN aggregation and service provider aggregation networks.

Cisco A9K-RSP880-TR supports Cisco IOS XR Software and is designed for high scalability, fast convergence, service flexibility and high availability. The packet-transport optimized model includes 16GB ECC-protected DRAM, two 32GB SSDs and an 8-core 1.9GHz processor according to Cisco platform specifications. It supports integrated distributed switch fabric architecture, service intelligence, traffic prioritization, route switch processor redundancy and advanced timing functions including BITS, IEEE 1588-2008 PTP, ToD, 1PPS and 10MHz timing interfaces depending on chassis, software and configuration.
